LADY IN BLOOM: PICKING UP THE PETALS

Last night I dreamed that I was a woman without worry, laughing out loud, my home and everything in it in was flawless, even my son didn’t make a mess! Not a thing out of place. I had the perfectly balanced life. Strange thing is that when I woke up I didn’t feel any longing for that, for that perfection. The moments of joy and fulfillment, yes, but not the pressure for everything to be right, all the time. It shows that I’ve come a long way! Because in the beginning, perfection mattered. Every detail, every plan. Every time!

We sometimes feel pressure to be flawless and while it’s ok, even good to have high standards you’ve set for yourself and your life, getting there needs to be a lot more strategic and organic. It really has to work for you and you need time to appreciate that.

I’ve learnt that I need to stop rushing things that need time to grow, even stepping back from some of my projects, re-examining them, tweaking where I can and starting over where necessary.

Moving forward in your season of bloom, ask yourself whether it’s more important to project a picture-perfect image to the world or whether your scattered pieces of beautiful still hold as you hone yourself, picking up the petals until the whole flower is found.

Let’s bloom together 🌺

‘Scattered pieces of beautiful’ , what a great line! There is beauty in imperfection. That’s where life happens. If you are about perfection, you are really performing life rather than living it.
