If you’re a woman reading this, you know how hard it can be to love yourself. We’re often talking ourselves down, over-thinking our achievements, apologizing for mistakes what we may or may not have made. But do we take enough time to love who we are? Or who we have the potential to be?

Try something different. Something scary. Try to win back yourself. To reclaim the love you once had for you. Or, if you’ve never even loved yourself, take some time to examine what you’re fighting within yourself and begin the journey to self-reconciliation. Is it easy? Not in the least. And it may take a while but…what, really, do you have to lose?

Nurture yourself. Cultivate. Begin to see yourself as the most important person that needs to be healthy and happy in your life, so that you can do the best for those that you love. Perfection is not the end game, self acceptance and self love are.

It’s liberating, frightening and surreal. I should know, it’s part of the path I’m walking. I’m far from reaching the full-potential finish line but I’m aware that it’s ok to be flawed, and that’s a great first step. Yes, I’m a rose and I come with thorns too…and that’s okay!
