The JourneyTHE SCENT OF WATER

April 23, 201716

(Let me deviate a little from posting about my life journey; let’s take a moment to pause and recollect)

I tipped my head up and let the drops pound my face. Purification, baptism. I could’ve stayed there all day, allowing myself to get lost in the gentle sounds of the water against the floor, the walls, the tub.

It was just a few days ago, while I was enjoying this moment under the shower, that it hit me; a tidal wave of transition has marked the last few years of my life. Sugar coated, blatant, raw, beautiful. But I haven’t really soaked it in until now. I’m taking a moment to fully understand what my past has taught me about my present and allowing myself to feel, to truly feel what this sense of awareness is.

We’re all a little afraid of transitions, even the ones that touch the core of your soul, like holding the hand of your life partner as you say ‘I Do’ or cradling the precious gift of new life in your arms, your little one already searching your face for answers. But I’m beginning to accept and appreciate that without transitions, we remain stuck, and stuck is icky. It’s uncomfortable and yet even if you choose to tolerate it, in the long run it’ll leave you direction-less.

Please note I’m not speaking from tons of experience, I can’t tell you what this new season is going to teach me or show me. But I do know that in the past, my breaking away from certain habits and patterns has made me grow a little more. So I’ve seen it work and its as fulfilling as it is rewarding.

The Scent of Water

Every shower we take offers a moment of spiritual rebirth. As the water flows from above, running down our body, we feel revitalized by its energy. Our pores open and we rid ourselves of impurities. We wash, shedding our dead skin and buffing the new (Philip Toshio Sudo, Writer/Musician)

So let me ask you this: what is it time for you to shed, to let go of? In some area of your life, you are probably in transition right now. Fortunately, it is also a path that often leads to personal growth. Getting through transition is not easy, but is anything good ever easy?

In what sense, could it be time for you to let go of that particular way to use your talents? To be the better version of you that you’ve always wanted to be?

Pause. Recollect.

Very encouraging Janet, transition can come by itself or individuals can engineer it from within. Sometimes painful and sometimes rewarding. Please consider at one point getting stories from young widows and widowers, some have really moving but encouraging stories to learn from

So INSPIRING. At the end, Transition is always rewarding because it awakens the great spirits in us that lead us to our destinies.
