The JourneyTEACHABILITY

January 3, 201722

‘Have a teachable spirit; have the will to want to learn and to grow’. I wrote down this quote in one of my blog posts in 2015 and it still rings very true as I repeat it here. Teachability is what we should all strive for in 2017. It may sound simple enough, but it seems like a lot of people haven’t quite grasped this. This year will mark 10 years since I began my stint on television. It has been a tremendous journey and opened up doors that I cannot begin to count. Despite the accolades and opportunities, there’s something I have to constantly remind…to remain teachable. It isn’t always easy because there’s times I feel like I know something and don’t need it repeated to me. That I’m above a certain assignment or project. Be that as it may, if there’s any truth to it all, I either have to try express my feelings in a diplomatic way or do it anyway, see if I’ll learn something new.

Even as a mother and wife, daughter and sister, friend. I have to be willing to learn to be better as a person. I won’t be able to please everyone and I won’t get it right a lot of the time, I’ve made peace with that…but I’ll try.

Teachability. It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts (John Wooden). As long as you’re green you’re growing (Ray Kroc). Learn, grow. Try it this year and let’s meet here again in 2018 to discuss what you learnt! ??

    A great piece there Janet.
There’s one characteristic that separates the successful from the unsuccessful in every walk of life: teachability.
No matter how much talent and gifting we have, if we are, or become, unteachable, we will never reach anywhere near our full potential in our careers, our callings, or our relationships.

Oh Rachel, it may seem so hard and difficult right now for you and I’m sure sometimes it gets you so down, but you will be built to tell your story and inspire someone else one day. Take heart and be sure to reach out to a support system while you go through your pregnancy. Wishing you well dear, God bless ??❤
