So my week of possibilites hit a bit of a glitch ? Yesterday, 24th January, I had a day that started well but didn’t end too great. While I was able take my son to the Nairobi National Museum for the first time and get in some R&R with a close friend, on my way home I was confronted by a barrage of messages about outstanding meetings, project deadlines and the onset of a hectic week ahead. By the time I got home, took a shower and slumped on to the couch, I was tired and frustrated. At least it was Huru’s feeding time, so I managed to bond with him before he was off to bed. I then went back and forth with a few people on phone and email, got further frustrated and shut down my laptop. I sat. I took 5, I breathed in and out.
The thing I’m finding with trying to get a lot done is that I can’t do it all at the same time. In my case, as is the case for some of you I’m sure, this is further complicated by the fact that I have numerous commitments I’m obligated to do all at once! Coupled with raising a young family and trying to be there for people, it’s near impossible and I’m now trying, very hard, to pace it all and prioritise a lot better.
If you are like me, you think you can do it all. But, if we’re being honest, we can’t, at least not all at once. It isn’t faster to juggle more; it’s faster to focus on one thing and then move on to the next. I know this because it has worked for me in the past. So I’m trying to get back to that space, which will allow me achieve more and have a better follow-through record.
Let’s try this again, shall we? To possibilities and getting things done right!

? I hear you Faith! I’m learning that multitasking is not all it’s cut out to be. We need to be careful so that we achieve as much as we can over time. Thanks dear ?

hi janet,i love this post so much considering the point am at right now.being in high school i thought university would be the place where i would get the platform to do everything i loved doing.of course i had a chance then and i was so good only iwanted something bigger.and now a first year with so many auditions going on i thought i could get myself into it all be it radio presenter and anchor, drama and film acting, setbook acting, music chorale, and even modelling.the only problem was most of them were appearing on the same day and time so all i did was try to rush and get it all done and ended up missing out on the fun of the auditions.even though i got myself into few of those i realised i couldnt get it all done in a few hours and there could always be time for more.i think i learnt my lesson last week and am glad i wasnt alone.have a fabulous week janet.

My parent tells me that do one thing at a time mostly now at am in tertiary education there is this feeling of waiting to hang out with friends and making new ones most of the time which leads to neglecting studies…..when parents, teachers, mentor tell u one assumes Bt coming from someone else dawns on u hard ❤ I can relate to it alot in my situation..thanks

Let me start with the superficial and say you look amazing! Next, you seem to be preaching to me this week in your posts. I am now firmly out of the woodworks and silent reading:). I set out insane goals for 2017. My mentor once told me to overeach and if I only achieved half my goals that I set for a certain period, it would still be a lot of goals met and things achieved. I realize now that sometimes making insane lists are stress inducing. I am human and therefore have limits and thats okay. Societal pressure of having and doing it all at once is just not feasible. Sanity is also precious. Thank you for another great post.

Thank you and thank you Sally! For being inspired by my posts this week! Some people can overstretch and that works for them, but if pacing it works better for you then by all means, pace yourself. I appreciate you, thank you ❤
